Events and Announcements

September

Staff Changes -- This month we transition from our interim pastor to our new senior pastor, Rev. Jacqueline Spycher.  We are grateful for this time of promise and a new chapter at FPCN.  We also welcome several new staff members in our music and education ministries.  Their profiles will be added soon to our Staff page.

Meetings, Groups and Bible Studies -- at this time, most activities are being conducted on-line, via Zoom or other method. Some groups are beginning to meet in the building, as space and distancing is practical.  Please check the church's on-line calendar for events currently scheduled.  (click on the 'Dates and Events" picture to the left).

Annual Congregational Meeting

The Session has called for the Annual Meeting of the Congregation on Sunday, September 27, after worship service.   FPCN Members, please plan to attend either in the Sanctuary, or via Zoom on-line.

The purpose of the meeting is to receive annual reports and to elect officers as described in the church bylaws.

Note:  a meeting of the Corporation will immediately follow the congregational meeting.

Donating blood is a safe process and people should not hesitate to give or receive blood.   Right now, eligible and healthy donors are strongly urged to make an appointment to give soon.  You may make an appointment at any local drive, just log on redcrossblood.org to find a date and site near you.

In-Person Worship in Sanctuary

Worship here at First Presbyterian has been virtual since March, and now the church has resumed in-person worship while continuing to live stream.

At this time, we are not conducting Sunday School or providing nursery care.  Bible studies and groups are meeting in the building on a limited basis.

In returning to in-person worship, the church is following the recommendations of the Presbyterian Church (USA) as well as Federal, State and Local directives.

As a friendly church, it will be a challenge to keep physical distance, but space between members is imperative.  At this time, please enter through the Welcome Center doors.  Because of reduced capacity in the sanctuary, seating is limited.  Masks are required at all times when in the building, and hand sanitizer is available.  The pew racks are empty: no Friendship Pads, Hymnals, Bibles, or brochures.  The children will not come to the chancel steps for Children’s Sermon.  There is no choir, there will be no congregational singing, and there will be no Coffee Hour.

Nonetheless, we are able to gather in the sanctuary as well as online, to offer praise and worship!

Agape

Women’s Agape Bible Study- Please join us for Trustworthy, Overcoming Our Greatest Struggles to Trust God, a study of 1 & 2 Kings by Lysa Terkeurst.

We will meet every other Friday at 9:30 am, starting with Sept. 11. Bring your own chair and meet us outside on the east side of the church across from Starbucks.

There will be treats but bring your own coffee. We will talk about how we will meet this fall and what that looks like for each of us individually. Friday mornings could include meeting outside, inside, Zoom, or a hybrid. We remain flexible and our upmost priority is everyone’s safety. Our desire is to continue in The Word and to grow in our relationship with God. We look forward to seeing everyone because our faith grows stronger when we are in fellowship together. All are welcome so bring a friend!  Purchase your own book at Amazon or LifeWay. For more information contact Carol Maise (Maise729@yahoo.com) or Gretchen Mizerowski (gmizerowski@yahoo.com).
